Due to the current Air Quality Alert, all open air burning (this includes recreational, non-recreational residential/agricultural etc.) is prohibited. This remains in effect until the alert has been lifted.
To keep vehicles moving on Dundas Street and from downtown, Washington Street access to Dundas Street will remain closed.
Final watermain connections and service connections to businesses on Grand River Street north, north of William Street are scheduled to start tomorrow, Tuesday, July 14. During this time, the contractor will work 24-hour shifts to complete the work as soon as possible.
The Downtown Dig enters the fourth month of the 2026 construction season. And progress is happening!
Shaver Street between Ewart Avenue and Prince Charles Road has reopened to the public.
The County of Brant thanks the community for their patience and support while emergency crews responded to the incident.
Please note that Shaver Street in Cainsville, between Ewart Avenue and Prince Charles Road, is currently closed to allow emergency vehicles access to a structure fire.
Church Bridge rehabilitation will begin on Wednesday, July 15. The bridge is located on Maple Avenue North between Highway 2 and Second Concession Road. During this time, Maple Ave North will be closed between Highway 2 and Second Concession Road. Bridge work will include excavation, patch and waterproofing of the bridge deck as well as new guide rail and roadway drainage improvements.
Park Avenue at King Street in Burford will be closed on Monday, July 13 from approximately 8:00 am to 1:00 pm for the installation of the Veteran’s Crosswalk. This crosswalk supports the 100th anniversary of the Royal Canadian Legion.
Rehabilitation on the Scott Culvert located on Burtch road, will begin on Thursday, July 16. The work will include concrete repairs, guide rail replacement and road reconstruction over the culvert.
Please be advised that watermain construction will take place on Grand River Street North, north of William Street, beginning Monday, July 6 and continuing until approximately Thursday, July 9.
