Tent Permits
A tent permit is required for a temporary tent or group of temporary tents if the area is greater than 60 square metres. This includes tents for outdoor weddings, special events, tents for sidewalk sales, and more!
Outdoor Tent Permit
Any type of outdoor tent larger than 60 square metres, requires a tent permit.
A permit is not required for a tent or group of tents if:
- Ground area is less than 60 square metres (646 square feet),
- Detached from all buildings, and
- Constructed more than 3 metres from other structures
Temporary Sales Event Permit
This permit allows retail businesses to establish a temporary sales event outside of their usual place of business inside a tent.
When applicable, a Temporary Sales Event Application must be approved before an Outdoor Tent Application can be submitted.
