Are you prepared for severe weather?

Environment Canada has issued an Orange Level Severe Thunderstorm Watch for our area, with severe thunderstorms possible this afternoon into the evening.

Conditions are favourable for the development of dangerous thunderstorms that may produce damaging wind gusts, large hail and heavy rain.

Severe thunderstorms may result in power outages, property damage, downed trees and the risk of personal injury.

Be prepared and stay safe:

• If threatening weather approaches, take cover in a basement or interior room.
• If you are outside, protect yourself from flying debris and hail.
• When thunder roars, go indoors.
• Download the WeatherCAN app for alerts and updates.

Emergency Management Ontario recommends that you take cover immediately if threatening weather approaches.
