Commemorative crosswalk installed at South Brant Legion
The County of Brant is celebrating the 100th Anniversary of The Royal Canadian Legion (which is July 17, 1926) by installing commemorative crosswalks, banners, and a mural across four local branches.
In advance of their 100th Anniversary celebration the painted crosswalk was installed earlier this week at the South Brant Legion – Branch 90 in Oakland.

Highlights include:
- South Brant Legion – Branch 90 (Oakland): Installed a painted crosswalk at the driveway entrance and adding banners on private property. Join the South Brant Legion on July 18th for the 100th Anniversary celebration!
- Burford Legion – Branch 543: Installing a painted crosswalk at Park Ave and King Street, alongside banners along Park Ave.
- Paris Legion – Branch 29: Installing a painted crosswalk at Grand River Street North and Mechanic Street, as well as downtown banners.
- St. George Legion – Branch 605: Commissioning a new mural on the Legion building, funded by the Community Improvement Plan, and hanging banners on private property.
We will share more photos and 100th Anniversary events taking place, as we continue to celebrate and honour the local Legions!
