Keeping our School Zones Safe

With the start of the new school year just around the corner, the County of Brant is enhancing parking enforcement in school zones to help keep students, families, teachers and crossing guards safe.

Municipal Law Enforcement Officers can now issue an Administrative Penalty Notice (parking ticket) to the registered owner of a vehicle even if the vehicle leaves before the notice can be physically issued. In these situations, the notice may be sent by mail.

We often hear from residents regarding school zone safety, and this change will help address unsafe parking and stopping behaviours in school zones that can contribute to congestion and safety concerns during busy school arrival and dismissal times.

Please do your part to keep our school zones safe by following all posted parking and stopping restrictions.
