Storm Cleanup Update - September 3, 2026

The County of Brant continues to respond to the impacts of yesterday’s severe thunderstorms.

Significant damage, including downed trees and power lines, is concentrated in the northern half of the County. County crews are patrolling roads and clearing storm debris from roadways and shoulders. Cleanup efforts are expected to continue well into next week.

Three road closures remain in place south of Glen Morris while crews await the hydro provider to clear downed trees and repair damaged infrastructure. For the latest road closure information, visit Municipal511.ca.

Several downed trees have also been reported in County parks, and staff will be inspecting trails as resources and time permit.

Please use caution and avoid areas that have been closed by the County or Ontario Provincial Police.

Several areas remain without power. Please check your provider’s online outage map for updates and consider checking in on neighbours, particularly seniors and those who live alone.
