The Brant Safe Streets program is working, and it’s thanks to the community!

Since late 2019, 1157 requests have been submitted by the community to investigate areas with chronic speeding concerns, and 489 field studies have been completed (multiple requests have been submitted for the same roads).

Brant Safe Streets has implemented widespread measures, including traffic calming, data tracking, and community feedback, to enhance road safety and reduce speeding across the County.

What has happened since the launch of Brant Safe Streets?

  • the implementation of 40 km/h zones, and
  • the deployment of many engineering solutions such as:

o   107 knock down sign/in-road bollards

o   102 temporary speed board signs

o   34 pedestrian crossing installations

o   26 permanent speed boards

o   26 speed limit revisions

o   24 new stop signs

o   20 permanent speed humps

o   18 street light projects

o   3 rumble strip locations

o   And many more safety initiatives implemented

Thank you County of Brant residents for helping us calm traffic and make our streets safer for everyone!
