The 2026 Municipal and School Board Election will take place on Monday, October 26

NEW for 2026: Voting will take place online and by phone only. The County of Brant will offer in-person Voter Assistance Locations during advance voting and on Election Day to help residents who need assistance voting online.

Election Voting

NEW - Voting for the 2026 Election will take place online and over the phone only. 

 

You qualify to vote in the County of Brant Municipal election if: 

  • You are at least 18 years old on Election Day;
  • You are a Canadian citizen;
  • If you are a resident of the County of Brant; 
  • If you rent or own property in the County of Brant; and
  • You are not otherwise prohibited by law from voting.

Are you on the list to vote?

If you are on the voters' list you will receive a Voter Information Letter in the mail. If you do not receive a letter in the mail by October 12, 2026, or would like to check if you are on the list prior to that date, please contact the Elections Team at election@brant.ca or 519.44BRANT (442.7268) / Toll-Free 1.855.44BRANT.

Voter Information Letter and Voter Pin

To vote, you will need a Voter Information Letter. This letter will include your unique Voter PIN, along with your full name and address. This letter will also provide instructions on how to vote online or over the phone, and will include a website address and phone number to cast your vote.

Voting Options

  • Voting will take place over the phone and online only. 
  • Eligible voters will receive a Voter Information Letter with instructions on how to vote. 
  • In-person Voter Assistance Locations will be available for all residents. Please see below for hours and locations.
  • Advance Polls open on October 19 at 9:00 am and close on Election Day, October 26 at 8:00 pm.

The County of Brant will offer in-person Voter Assistance Locations during advance voting and on Election Day to help residents who need assistance voting online. 

Electors are reminded to bring their Voter Information Letter with them to the Voter Assistance location.

Alternative Voting Locations are County of Brant facilities which serve as locations where electors may vote without needing assistance.

Notes about these locations:

  • Elections staff will not be working these facilities.
  • Electors must bring their Voter Information Letter with them to vote.
  • All County of Brant Public Library Branches will operate as Alternative Voting Locations within their regular business hours during the advanced polling period and will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Election Day.
  • The Buford Customer Service Office (Reception Area) and the Paris Customer Service Officer (Reception Area) will operate during their regular business hours during the advanced polling period and on Election Day.
