Firearms
The Firearms Bylaw (PDF) outlines restrictions on when and how you can discharge firearms and bows. These restrictions include:
- Within 100 m of any watercourse or body of water adjacent to the areas shown as "Discharge of Firearms Prohibited" area on any of the maps attached as Schedules A1 to A38 (PDF) inclusive
- On land without permission of the property owner
- On, over or across any highway or portion thereof
- On, over or across any land owned by the County of Brant, without written permission
- On, over or across any forestry lands owned by the County of Brant as described and shown on any of the maps attached as Schedules B1 to B7 (PDF) inclusive
- Within 100 m of any place of worship, public hall or school property
- On land zoned residential
- Within 100 m of a registered plan of subdivision or plan of condominium once a building permit application has been submitted
- On, over or across any recreational trail
Not complying with any of the provisions in this bylaw is an offence and you may be subject to a penalty.

This easy-to-use tool allows you to view restricted zones, navigate specific locations and ensure compliance before engaging in any activity involving the discharge of a firearm. Residents are encouraged to consult the map regularly as boundaries and regulations may be updated.
