Property standards help ensure that all buildings and yards in the County of Brant are safe, well-maintained, and contribute to the overall health and appearance of our community

Property Complaints

If you notice a property that does not appear to meet these standards, you can submit a complaint to the County.

  • Long grass
  • Debris, garbage, abandoned refrigerators and freezers in a yard
  • Improper storage and disposal of refuse
  • Sewage discharge and roof drainage
  • Trees, vegetation and the branches, limbs and parts thereof which create an unsafe condition due to decay, disease or being damaged
  • Structures, fences and retaining walls not in good repair
  • More than two unlicensed and inoperative vehicles in a yard
  • Unkept pools and ponds
  • Improper maintenance of buildings and structures - structural capability, fire damage and prevention, foundations, exterior walls, doors and windows, interior structures and surfaces, plumbing systems, heating and mechanical systems, electrical systems, recreational facilities and vacant buildings

If you notice a property that does not appear to meet these standards, you can submit a complaint to the County.
