Please note the following County of Brant program updates for Wednesday, July 15 due to an Air Quality Alert:

There is currently NO active fire in the County of Brant. Smoke from forest fires in northwestern Ontario is causing or expected to cause poor air quality and reduced visibility across much of southern Ontario. Poor air quality will begin this morning and may last into tonight.

Final watermain connections and service connections to businesses on Grand River Street north, north of William Street are scheduled to start tomorrow, Tuesday, July 14. During this time, the contractor will work 24-hour shifts to complete the work as soon as possible. 

The City of Brantford and the County of Brant are pleased to announce an update to the proposed Brantford Municipal Airport boundary adjustment map, reflecting changes made directly in response to public feedback received throughout the public engagement process.

The Medical Officer of Health (MOH) for Grand Erie Public Health is issuing a heat alert for the Grand Erie Public Health region (Brantford‑Brant and Haldimand‑Norfolk), effective Monday, July 13, 2026.

Due to weather conditions and the potential risk to equipment, tonight’s Movies in the Park event at Mount Pleasant Park has been postponed to Friday, July 24.

The Downtown Dig enters the fourth month of the 2026 construction season.  And progress is happening!

Please note that some areas scheduled for garbage and recycling pickup today, July 10, 2026, will not be completed by 5:00 pm. Our collection crews are working diligently and hope to finish by this evening.

Shaver Street between Ewart Avenue and Prince Charles Road has reopened to the public.
