The heat alert issued by the Medical Officer of Health on July 13, 2026 for the Grand Erie Public Health region (Brantford-Brant and Haldimand-Norfolk) has ended as temperatures and humidity levels are no longer forecasted to meet heat alert criteria.

Please note that Park Patrol at Scotland Optimist Park has been cancelled on Friday, July 17. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and hope to see you next week!

Due to the current Air Quality Alert, the following cancellations are in effect today:

Please be advised that the Brant Sports Complex will close today, Wednesday, July 15, at 5:00 pm, due to poor air quality inside the facility. The indoor air quality has been impacted by the HVAC system, which draws in outside air.

Annual pavement marking will begin on Monday, July 20, 2026. 

The Paris Community Pool and all County of Brant Splash Pads are closed for the remainder of today, July 15, due to an Air Quality Alert.

Due to the current Air Quality Alert, all open air burning (this includes recreational, non-recreational residential/agricultural etc.) is prohibited as of Wednesday, July 15, 2026. This remains in effect until the alert has been lifted.

To keep vehicles moving on Dundas Street and from downtown, Washington Street access to Dundas Street will remain closed.

Please note the following County of Brant program updates for Wednesday, July 15 due to an Air Quality Alert:

There is currently NO active fire in the County of Brant. Smoke from forest fires in northwestern Ontario is causing or expected to cause poor air quality and reduced visibility across much of southern Ontario. Poor air quality will begin this morning and may last into tonight.
